Democracy Inaction

"Democracy is the most vile form of government. ... democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property: and have in general been as short in their lives as the have been violent in their deaths."
— James Madison, Father of the Constitution, 4th President of the United States

Democracy has always been viewed with a skeptical eye by those in power. In the 21st century the battle is ongoing between those who would subjugate and enslave, and those seeking to defend the fundamental right to cast the ballot. An educated population isn't enough, true liberty requires an educated population that can vote. Awareness of this fundamental power struggle reveals the depths of which people will dive to sequester the free speech, liberty, and freedom of it's populace.

Voter suppression is the most egregious injustice to the ideals of democracy witnessed in our lifetime. Photo ID laws, voter rolls being purged, disinformation about voting procedures, gerrymandering districts, felon disenfranchisement, and voting machine malfunctions are but a handful of techniques crafted by those fearful of losing power to stave off judgement of an informed electorate.

It is criminal that you can transfer an unlimited amount of money all over the world in an instant from your cellphone, yet we are told that the technology to construct a voting machine that can tell a 1 from a 0 just isn't there yet. Billions of dollars are exchanged every minute of the day electronically, and never does one red cent go missing. Trust me fellow patriot, when it comes to currency (the poor man's ballot), there's never a recount. They nail it on the first go every time, accurate to one millionth of a cent, and this system of unshakable precision has been in place for decades. In the 1960's we had the technology to land a human being on the face of the moon, but in 2016 we are baffled by the prospect of a voting system which isn't utterly corrupt. Our technology still requires trust in the humans who wield it, and there's nothing more corruptible than someone fearful of losing their power.

"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."
-Abraham Lincoln

There is only one clear answer, only one unshakable foundation to build the future of true liberty upon, and that is the most robust, most secure, most incorruptible ledger system known to man, the blockchain.

When we formed Team Billary, we had high aspirations to take on this challenge. We would tackle the biggest practical application of blockchain technology since it redefined our monetary system, it would now revolutionize our electoral system. There were many questions to answer: "Who would control the voter token (coin) dispersal? If a centralized government was charged with distributing them, would it mean the loss of the anonymous vote, a core pillar of free elections? Would the trade-off be worthwhile if we could ensure %100 transparent elections devoid of suppression while enabling %100 of the population to vote as easily as they send an e-mail? We soon realized that we were in over our heads, and branched out in search of some fellow pioneering explorers to help us mount this revolution.

What we found was Lewis and fucking Clark. Hell-bent on not just discovering the North-West passage, they were going to move the mountains themselves to carve the way. We've been in contact with them since the launch of BillaryCoin, and it gives me great pleasure today to announce the partnership between BillaryCoin and FollowMyVote.

We are contributing code towards their open-source project to ensure that our most sacred right is not trampled on by the crooked election officials and high-level members of government who want to keep your vote suppressed. We will also shortly announce a program where you can claim a bounty of BillaryCoin for participating in FollowMyVote's code contributor program. I encourage all liberty loving programmers, coders, and crypto enthusiasts to take a long look in the mirror, and ask themselves if they believe in the power of open and free elections. Because you have the power to contribute, to influence the course of human events with your collaboration with this landmark technology. Go FollowMyVote.com/Code-Contributors/ to inscribe your name on the wall of history.

The work they are doing leaves me utterly speechless. They have developed a blind token system to preserve the anon vote, perfected a low-cost solution which will save literally Billions of tax dollars on elections, even implemented live-tracking statistics so anyone can watch election results live as the votes are being cast. It puts CNN's holograms to shame to say the least. Not to mention a %100 secure platform to smash, kill, and destroy any lingering hope of voter suppression in the free world. A free vote of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the earth.

Our involvement doesn't stop there, we are being considered to have BillaryCoin's blockchain become a testbed for FollowMyVote's development, paving the way and playing an integral role for this upcoming paradigm shift. BillaryCoin is going to be a part of history.

We are over the moon with the prospects that lie ahead, and are proud to be a supported partner with FollowMyVote. I highly encourage our community members to take a look at the amazing work that is happening right now, as the implications this project will have on the balance of power in our world are staggering. This revolution will have far-reaching consequences for those who wish to pervert the voting system for their own ends. And we at Team Billary could not be more proud to be part of the movement.

I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them but to inform their discretion.
-Thomas Jefferson
